I saw the alcohol thing in EN one time - the virtues of alcohol was sung 
by a rider from the normal semi-arid climates where you would not need 
it. It is expensive, it will sting a horse if there are any cuts. If you 
really want to cool send out a cooler full of bags of ice. Rub the ice 
on the juggler on the bottom of the neck. That will cool the core temp 
much faster than just about anything else.
