Re: [RC] [RC] Outlaw Trail 1998--nostalgiac moment - Marlene Moss
“Crockett had a spray
can of white paint (which was water soluble) .
he would spray little
puffs/drops of white on things to mark the way.
Ends of pine tree branches
with white tips, just eye high so you'd
see them:) I do recall being
on my hands in the rocks bending to
taste the white spot to see
if it was a trail marking -- it was not:(“
Heehee, I remember white
paint on white aspen trees, yellow paint on yellow (fallen) aspen leaves, black
paint on black rocks and pink paint on pink flowers. The next marker was within
site of the last one – if you could see it! We only got lost once,
where some flowers had lost their petals. Finally we just let one horse
that thought she knew where she was going determine the path for us – and
she was right!
