[RC] Outlaw Trail 1998--nostalgiac moment - k s swigartJohn Teeter said: I remember the first time I met Leonard Leisens from Belgium. He had flown in to Salt Lake City and we (steph&I) were passing through from Idaho headed to Crocket Dumas' 5 day Outlaw Trail. Steph & I had 4 horses with us and only 3 riders. John, YOU only had three horses with you. I brought the fourth (Great Santini) that Steph had just bought, sight unseen. And Snip the Nut (who Steph had also bought sight unseen, this one, not from me) for me to ride. She didn't actually buy Santini from me either, but from friends of mine who were the ones who are the ones who "rescued" him from the Truck to Texas that was pulling in just as I was riding him off the property (down a paved road and across the 91 fwy, I might add). On the first day at that Outlaw Trail Leo and I rode together with the two nuts (Snip and Santini), with Leo in front for most of the way, except when he missed the trail markings. I sure miss the Outlaw Trail. I have never done a better endurance ride. kat Orange County, Calif. :) p.s. It was before Dubai '98 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
