[RC] The False Analogy - k s swigartPlease note that nowhere in my post did I say whether I consider it right or wrong for ride managers to charge the same for LD rides as for 50 milers. I just pointed out the reasons that Joe's analogy to the pricing of theater tickets was a false analogy. For the ride that I managed, I didn't have an LD ride, there was only one distance. And there was no entry fee; I just told people that I would accept donations from participants in order to help defray the expenses and left it up to them to determine what they thought was fair. I got donations of all kinds of things (including time) from more than just the participants. kat Orange County, Calif. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
