Not smokey at my place, although it has been, off and
on. Whiskeytown, (near Redding, CA) which is about 40 minutes west
of me, is still burning, and north winds today, as well as 113+ TEMPS are really
causing the fires to build. Looks like a large cauliflower
now! We rode yesterday near Whitmore, which is to the east of
Redding about 4000 ft. elevation. No smoke, but very hot up there,
too. Some of these fires (Whiskeytown, Iron mt. and the ones in
Butte and Plumas counties were almost contained but have exploded
