Re: [RC] First Time Rider - NOT LD! - mspattykirkHi Peggy, I share your joy in introducing your granddaughter to the horse. My youngest granddaughter, Savannah is 19 months old. I put her on our old pony when she was 17 months and she rode around like a little princess. When she came out to visit my oldest granddaughter Jordan and I at a ride, she screamed bloody murder until she was allowed to ride Jordan's endurance horse Artie!! Something tells me that she will be doing LD endurance at a very young age. All four of my grandkids are riding now. Isn't it great to be able to bring our grandkids into the wonderful world of horses? She sat up on the bareback pad with the most incredible look on her face - like she had found IT! No fear, just a look like here I am - finally. My daughter was never horse-crazy like I was, but, like I told her, the horsey gene can skip a generation - and it did. All she wanted to do while she was here was go and be at the stables and feed the horses carrots. To see her up on old Tommy was like seeing myself many, many years ago. Look for her on the trails in about 2016 or so!
