Ok, I have long, really think, wavy hair, that I wear in a ponytail when I ride. I currently have a Tipperary Sportage helmet, but it comes down too low and tight at the back and smashes all my hair into the back of my neck and itches and makes me too hot. I feel like ripping it off my head. (The helmet, not my hair :) I have adjusted and re-adjusted the pads inside and it just doesn't help. Does anyone ever ride in a bicycle helmet or have a helmet that is much higher up in the back? I know they make equest riding helmets with ponytail ports in them, but those ports don't even look big enough to fit my think hair into. I'm finding myself not wearing my helmet on everyday rides because it's too uncomfortable. Not a good thing. If any of you have a pony-tail-port type helmet, is it helpful? I wish I could make my own! lol Any suggestions? If we ever start to count ALL miles as equal, (together as mileage history for the horse), then we need to also do away with the individual awards for LD vs. Endurance..." Don't see why. In the Midwest (UMECRA country), all miles completed by each horse {LD, Endurance, & CTR (called "competitive riding")} are lumped together. All of the programs are healthy, all have individual awards, horses are recognized for their achievements, and the sky does not fall.
