Re: [RC] How can I tell when horse is ready for an LD? - Betsy ThomasShe is a little under 13.2 hands but has good feet/legs. I am 5 feet tall and 105 pounds and ride with a reasonably lightweight saddle (specialized international) . Her little pony-jog does make it harder for us to keep up with fast trotters (arabs, warmbloods, TBs) but we do that for practice sometimes on weekdays. For distance we have found the western trail- riders work well because the trot stays slow enough for her pony legs to handle.
