RE: [RC] Girth sensitivity/soreness - Ranelle Rubin

The Desitin came out of mine with a fine, hard spray of water...hose nozzle on full blast-we do have great water pressure here.. We have a big piece of rubber matting next to the hose bib, and I just lay it down and spray it well..It did look awful before I sprayed it off. I also used to put it in the washing machine, but not the dryer and it came out well.

How do you keep the Desitin from ruining your girth? My daughter has a nice sheepskin girth we gave over $80 for. She had to use Desitin on her last horse and now that girth is no longer fluffy, it's a shaped solid object. Still works, but doesn't even resemble fluffy any more. Washing has no effect at all on the embedded Desitin.
