Re: [RC] [RC] foot pain - RavenWould a trailrunning shoe have a stiffer sole and give moresupport? Hi, Are you planning on running trails or simply forward running ...such as on a treadmill or street? For simple forward running...the shoes are very flexible and provide very little lateral support A trail running shoe will be stiffer and will also provide lateral support for the side to side movements a foot makes when running outside/trails. I would suggest you visit a local running store for more help. If you ride in safety stirrups, you will be able to ride in non heel shoes. Or maybe ask a Ride & Tie rider/runner...which shoes work for that sport. I started running about 6 weeks ago, and discovered that the correct shoe for the terrain/surface you are on...is very important. Good luck!
