[RC] New information for Tevis Volunteers - Ranelle Rubin
It appears that those who are willing to be designated Horse Transports will be reimbursed for their fuel costs!
Here is an excerpt from an email I got yesterday:
"Hi everyone,
As we get ready for this year's ride, I want to let everyone
know about a few changes and find out who is available to help on July 19th.
First the good news! This year the Ride will reimburse
all regular Horse Transport trailers for fuel costs. Keep your
receipts. Crews who agree to trailer horses out of Robinson Flat after they have crewed for their rider will get to
drive in and park their trailer as in the past but we won't be reimbursing them
for fuel. Volunteers who agree to bring a trailer into a stop as a
pre-positioned trailer will also be reimbursed for fuel even if they are
scheduled to make only one trip out.
Third, if you know of additional possible horse transport
volunteers-----we need a few more good men and women. What is especially
helpful are volunteers who can be one-trip pre-positioned
trailers. This works well with also helping at the stop while
waiting for a load. Most horses are pulled about the time the stop closes
up. These potential volunteers can email me or call or sign up on the
Tevis website.
A Key date is 16 July BBQ on Weds before Tevis when we
distribute Horse Transport packets.
Thanks in advance to everyone for helping on the 2008
Ride."
If you are interested in volunteering for Tevis (in any way), please let me know. I will be passing on interested party information to the appropriate folks.
Thanks so much everyone!
