I'd call the conformation "type" old fashioned,
hard working mounts, which of course that is what they are meant to be.
I'll bet they are tough as nails!
I was especially interested in the colors of the
horses, the intense, metallic, glitter on almost every one.
Some riders in the NW may remember my
Palomino QH stallion from the '80s, Scotch and Soda.
He had this kind of hair. It must
have been a throw back from ???? He was from a long line of QH
breeding but there were a lot of "unknowns" in the breed as late as '50s.
It didn't seem to pass to his foals.
I was approached by a lady at a show asking what
kind of "coat dressing" I put on to make him shine like
that.
When I insisted it was natural she was very
insulted, she went away believing I was hiding a magic formula for beautiful
coats.
