Re: [RC] Leather Treatment of Olive Oil - Mary Ann SpencerI used leather new on my only western saddle. But it seems to only clean. I have a jug of neatsfoot oil so used that and the leather got nice and soft. Many use Murphy's cleaner mixed with water to clean take and keep it conditioned. With the price of neatfoot oil being high, seems my next purchase for leather conditioning will be either the virgin oil or vegetable oil. Which kind of veg oil? Seems to me veg oil can get tacky and sticky? Or is it just when you are cooking with it????----- Original Message ----- From: "Dot Wiggins" <dotwgns@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "ridecamp" <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, March 03, 2007 11:28 AM Subject: Fw: [RC] Leather Treatment of Olive Oil
Subject: Re: [RC] Leather Treatment of Olive Oil I've used olive oil successfully to treat leather but I've never then set the leather item in the sun. My leather cleaning product of choice is Murphy's Oil Soap. A local saddle maker/restorer only uses glycerin on the old saddles he works on.
