I remember this happening last year also. I would expect some or it be 
from the droughts in some areas last summer cut the hay production. Also 
unlike 10 years ago, many commercial mills are formulating their feed 
with significant percentages of beet pulp. That may also be playing into 
the shortage. They probably bought theirs in bulk and put a crimp on the 
supply.
