Re: [RC] [RC] cat shot/horse shot - Barbara McCraryWhen we kept chickens, they were kept full time in a house with wire screening in the windows. We have coyotes, weasels, foxes, raccoons and redtail hawks, any one of which would happily dine on chicken. With the chickens in the house, we never had a problem.Barbara ----- Original Message ----- From: "Quentin & Libby Llop" <qhll@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Cc: "Ridecamp" <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, March 01, 2007 3:16 AM Subject: Re: [RC] [RC] cat shot/horse shot I've kept sheep for over 30 years now. Early on an old timer gave me the following advice on dealing with dogs: Shoot, shovel and shut up. Laws in your state may vary, but here in N.Y. only the larger livestock is protected ie: you have the right to shoot a dog in your sheep or calves, but not in your chickens.
