Re: [RC] ipod - ibiteraaarr

For anyone interested, I highly recommend the iPod Shuffle. I'm dying to try it out on the trails this spring. It only costs about $75 and it's 1 GB which is about 240 songs. It's ultra tiny and clips onto anything. Perfect for mileage in my humble opinion.  :)

While I cannot imagine wanting to hear anything but the sound of hoofbeats, birdsong, and wind on the trail, I did use an iPod to train my Arab mare for a musical dressage show (kur).

I plugged a splitter into the iPod and ran 2 sets of headphones up from there. I put the iPod earbuds under the bridle and a larger set of phones over my ears.  It was great for running the routine over and over and practicing selected parts of it w/o dismounting. (Anky, eat your heart out, as you spend another $250K for custom music). We won most artistic performance. Anyone who wants pix—and the kur routine—pm me.
