Thank you Patti, from Fred Emigh.
He couldn't have gotten a better endorsement or commercial in any
other type of media. Guerrilla marketing rules! I bet he will now have
back orders for training for the next ten years.

Patti,
I do not subscribe to Ridecamp, but a
mutual friend brought to my attention your post regarding Fred Emigh,
and I feel compelled to reply.
First of all, an invitation to the
President's Cup is earned not by being selected by USEF, but by coming
to the notice of the OC, usually by means of an outstanding record, a
win in a high profile race, or by being a competitor of overall
superiority. The OC of the President's Cup, from what I have heard,
wish to present a venue for the very best horses and riders in the
world to compete head to head. They take pride in the highest quality
of competitors racing across their sands.
Secondly, I am not surprised that you
have not heard of Fred. He is a West Coast rider of the very highest
caliber, who has been quietly doing his thing for more years than I
know. He is a very good trainer and starter of horses. I, personally,
have ridden four, and competed on three, horses that he has started
(that I know of!), and they have all been very well-started horses.
Fred sometimes rides other people's horses that are green, sometimes
riders other people's horses that are finished, and sometimes rides his
own horses. He is always quiet, self-possessed, and polite, and I
really cannot think of many better exemplars of the quality of person
and horseman I would hope to represent our country overseas.
I hope this answers your questions.
Please feel free to contact me privately if you have any other
comments, as I will not be monitoring ridecamp.
