Re: [RC] Comfort Issues on Long Rides - Tx TriggerMike, I've used Body Glide, and it worked OK, but have not tried Anti-Monkey Butt powder. My favorite though, is "Butt'r". Here is a link to it at REI, but you can order it on line other places. It is a cream, and rubs on like a lotion. http://tinyurl.com/gxzbk What works for me, might not work for you. I just started trying different products. Go to a good bike shop, and ask what the bike riders use to prevent chaffing. I rub this stuff to the insides of my knees, as I have to ride with neoprene knee braces, and half chaps, and then on my bottom. ;-) For chaffing, it has really saved my hide! I also have real sheepskin cover on my saddle. I'd think that after so many years riding, and even doing distance, I'd not be getting rubs, but I seem to have gotten more sensitive with age. Mike, for a little more leg protection, if you don't want to use half chaps, do you ride with a nice tall sock, that comes up over the calf? For some, that really helps. I've just learned to deal with my half chaps. I will say, I found the Ariat Terrain half chaps more hot, than my old Ariat classic half chaps that are of a smooth, more rigid leather. I figured out the reason is, the Classics don't fit as tight to my leg, and thus, not as hot, even tough they are heavier. Yet, because of the more rigid smooth leather, they do not slouch. Just try a few things, and you will find what works for you.
