[RC] wt from muscle vs wt from fat - Mary Ann Spencer

Many of us are not 'fat' but have good bone and muscle in additon to the 'usual' fat that comes with our homo sapiens species.  I have had to try to take care of people weighing over 300#s and it is HORRIBLE.  People need to care for their health first and appearance after that.  The two are intertwined.

Calories in vs calories out is important.  The real shame is those who weigh over 250 and can't walk very far without assistance and hence cant do for themselves.  But someone always brings them food-usually the wrong type.   There are much better dieting systems now than when I first started dieting to pass military weight requirements.   A big problem is that we diet for now but don't keep it up.  I believe the military will be paying a heavy price for all the women who have been thin and develop brittle bone disease from not eating enough calcium over the years.  Taking calcium in sold rock forms will not be absorbed well by our bodies.

But in regard to being heavier and riding>>>>>>>  if we condition our horse, our horse conditions for the load being carried.  IMHO
