Re: [RC] 2030 - John Teeteror:aerc (or USEF or FEI) will be sanctioning "personal Enduance Rides". You do it from home and your gps records your miles etc and gives it back to the sanctioning body. Membership gets you a tracking/sensors unit (delivered with your member/registration kit) which does all the gate2hold parameter checking and monitors your in/out time; tracks your ride and charges you entry fees:) The competitions are really against other competitors who have done the same trail, but possibly at a different time. So I can go race Idaho spuds against tom and frank w/o them having to be there at the same time. So I COULD strart riding from Oreana on Tuesday, get to the "race site" on Thursday. Rest up a day, do the "race", then take my time getting home (that would be 120mi to the ride, a 50 mile "race" and 120 miles back, So AERC would record 290miles of competition of which a 50 would have been timed on the Idaho Spuds trail. no diesel:) jt (but we'll still have a place in Oreana I'm thinking - would be nice to get around to self-sufficiency but will assume that swan falls and/ or j.c. strike dams on the snake will still be generating and that we can bleed enough off for the south side of the river to keep us going on hydro. so community sufficiency with a good barter economy???) =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
