Before I started Canadian Trail House making horse
equipment I owned a shop called Seams To Be and taught quilting and fibre
art.
T shirt quilts are fun to make. Back your tshirt
patches with a good quality iron on interfacing. Not the paper kind but the one
for knits that looks kinda like the walmart granny pantie
matieral...lol
Ask at your fabric store. When you back them do not
iron.Ironing is when you push and pull your iron over the fabrc.
(how many endurance riders iron , should take a
poll:-))
You press up and down with steam. Lift your iron on and
off. You don't want to distort the t shirt fabric.
Invest in a rotary cutter , mat and ruler. (Borrow one
from a quilting friend)
Quilt blocks need to be acurate. 1/16th of an inch out
x 5 blocks makes you over size out and you will have problems.
There are some good basic quilt books. I would suggest
you take a course at your sewing centre. You can make your quilt
there.
Quilts are alot of work. Takes hours to make when you
know what you are doing.
