Re: [RC] [RC] snakes - Janice TaylorOnce upon a time: there were four of us 'gals' doing a first of the year conditioning ride. I'll elemiate the names to protect the guilty...We were trotting nicely down a gravel road. Rider #1 did not see the snake in the middle of the road, and trotted on by. Rider #2, saw the snake and pointed to it excitedly, and trotted on by. Rider #3 exclaimed and did the same, but Rider #4 halted her horse and circled back to have a closer look. Snake shook his rattler. Horse of Rider #4 saw the snake and did a 180. Rider #4 then had a extreamly close-up view of Mr. Snake.... Fortuantely, no one was hurt...including the Mr. Snake ----- Original Message ----- From: "Truman Prevatt" <tprevatt@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "RHONDA LEVINSON" <rhndlev@xxxxxxx> Cc: <dixiehale@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>; "ridecamp" <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, November 13, 2007 11:43 AM Subject: Re: [RC] [RC] snakes Came galloping around a corner on a single track. My wife was behind me. A large downed limb across the trail catches my eye as we go over it. Then it dawned on me that that limb had a big set of rattles. The Jbird must have gotten it with his hind feet because it was thrashing as my wife went over it. That diamondback was huge. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
