Wow! That is an incredible completion rate! I think the $5000 prize money
for finishing is a huge part of this completion rate. I know there are other
factors, riding at night, rain, but still, the 5000 dollars just to finish would
have inspired everyone to ride with a huge emphasis on taking good care or their
horses to insure a finish on a healthy horse. It proves that completion rates of
50% and better can be accomplished at 100 mile FEI endurance rides...Where there
is a will there is a way and in this case the will was bolstered by the purse
for completion.
