One is not necessarily snotty or arrogant or whatever word you want to use, just because they have a different opinion.? When many of the "posters" started this sport of endurance, there weren't any LD rides.? Most of them started on one day 100 milers.? So, the excuses about "I don't have the time, the money, the work ethic, the horse, the body, etc." just rankles.? Most of them didn't have mentors in the sense that it's being used here.? No one babysat them.? People encouraged them, excited them, inspired them.? They didn't hold their hands.? It's human nature to believe that if you had to do things a certain way, then it's good enough for others.? Go work some rides for experience.? Buy a GPS to learn to rate your horse.? Stop?whining about how tough it is and just get out and ride.? Competitive trail is a fabulous sport all on its own.? If that's more your cup of tea, that's wonderful.? Go do it.??
