I do an shabby job of a modified trace clip on Beau,my grey,every winter 
becasue he's terribly fuzzy.  Just along the lower neck and  the "drip line" 
and   leave the girth area and belly unclipped.  It really helps and I glad 
I did it before we rode Mission Peak this last weekend.

My mare, on the other hand, is not quite as fuzzy so I don't bother.  They 
are both unblanketed pasture horses.  Drako I don't bother clipping because 
this metroxexual horse does not like to get sweaty at all anyway.

I've been amused at my new boarding barn about people showing off there 
pretty full body winter clips for their blanketed, coddled horses.   I mis 
good old Lightfoot Stables.
