Experienced riders being identified as mentors-at the ride meeting, the
manager could point them out, perhaps they could wear a special colored
vest. And they should be approachable, friendly people, who are not racing for
top 5 or have some over inflated ego.
That way if someone comes up on you during a ride, has the vest
on, and lends you advice -- or tells you your going too fast, you should
believe them, and thank them for the help.
And if you need help it would be easy to spot the mentor, and ask your
question or get some assistance.
Its not like we don't do this already -- most riders do lookout for one
another-but if the riders are "specially appointed" the advice will have a
little more force behind it so that those who do not like to listen to good
advice are more likely to pay attention.
