After sleeping on this, I realize there is
some merit in your viewpoint. My feeling last night was all the
punishment fell upon Patrick and none that I could see on the rider of the
horse, except for nearly losing the horse. Yes, Patrick shouldn't have
attacked the rider, but was there ANY punishment meted out to the rider for
abusing his horse? None that I could detect.
Two wrongs
don?t make a right, to quote a cliché. I don?t care how horrible a thing one person
does, that does not give anyone else the right to threaten, abuse or use
violence against them. Sure, another protest or action should have been
taken against the rider who abused the
horse, but it should have followed legal
channels, whether AERC, ASPCA or police.
