Mom and I discover a new way to solve that pesky problem of getting a dry sponge to soak up water this weekend. We took my mare and 5 yo gelding out for a ride Sat. afternoon. When we got to the first creek the horses were more interested in eating than drinking so we decided to sponge them off as they had worked up a little sweat. Mom dropped her sponge and the first thing Deke did was promptly pick it up in his mouth and carefully dunk it in the water about four times and then let it go. LOL I told her the real trick would be to see if she could get him to do it again!
