[RC] A good electrolyte paste - Mary HowellI highly recommend Enduramax paste by Kentucky Performance Products (www.kppusa.com) I believe Jeannie Waldron was involved in the development of this stuff and it is formulated specifically for endurance, with magnesium as well as the other salts. In pre-mised tube form, it is mixed with a buffering agent and has worked great for horses I've ridden this year on some hot, tough rides including Genessee in July and Big South Fork in early September. It holds up well over time (unlike Lyte Now, which settles and can get hard to push through the syringe) and is a great consistency to STAY in their mouths after you squirt it in. Being a klutz, I always have to get off my horses to syringe on trail, but for those lucky riders who have trained their horses to take lytes from the saddle this would be a good brand to use! The empty syringe containers also work great for refills if you're cheap like me and want to use the Enduramax powder to save $$ - they have a bigger tip than most syringes, which I like because I often mix MyoGuard powder (another KPP product) with my lytes to help with muscle tone, and it tends to clog up the smaller tipped syringes. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
