Even on a road or trail where there is no place to
turn off, we like to hang a ribbon about every 1/4 mile, just as a
"security ribbon." It's such a comfort to see that ribbon while riding
along, even if common sense says you didn't miss a turn
somewhere.

You are on a 100 mile ride. The trail follows a 10'-18'
wide jeep road. This road has NO place to turn off of it for 10+
miles. There is a person at the intersection to get onto the trail
telling you which way to go to get onto the road.
How many, how
often do you want any kind of trail markings?
