[RC] FACTS - Kristen A Fisher

Here are MY FACTS:
I live in TX, and I am not participating in the ride so I was not there and
I cannot pass judgment on anything that happened. I don't feel anything but
sympathy for the people and horses involved in the accident.

Another FACT:
Ridecamp is not an official media source for AERC, so people need to stop
demanding that it become that. It's a discussion group, NOT Reuters, AP,
UPI, or Dan Rather.

I think the lack of discussion on RC is due to having few FACTS to discuss.

I'm an endurance rider..or I have been..haven't ridden in 
years..getting old/sold place in TX/bought place in NM/etc. 
(But, I completed the Old Dominion in '76 & the Tevis  2 out 
of 4 attempts.)

I just want to say.., I'm very embarrassed by the reports of 
the Sante Fe Race.  I'm in Silver City, NM & my local news 
comes out of  
Albuquerque.   It's all over the local news.  I'm sure that most  
people listening to the news have no understanding of the 
sport of endurance riding and only see the death of 2 horses!!!!

I don't care what the circumstances are:  
weather/terrain/management issues/personal issues/horse 
issues/etc..the rider is the one in control of the team! 
There is no excuse!!!

  I feel bad that these 3 women were injured, and REALLY bad 
that the  
2 horses are dead, but   what's the excuse/reason?!?!

And, I can't believe that all the 'talk' on ride camp is 
about rearing horses & hoof armor!!! For crying out 
loud...this is your issue and it's now a national issue & I 
want to read the facts on ride camp!!!!

Once again..this is only my humble opinion, but I am soooo 
very upset about this!!!  Embarrassed to be a part of this 
sport & want to hear that something is being done to change the image.
