Add to snakes...mice.  The women in my husband's office go frantic and climb 
on the chairs to avoid a mouse that might run across the floor.  One of the 
funniest "scares", however, occurred the time someone (who...Lud?  Never!) 
put a Longhorn Beetle into the main drawer of the desk where one woman 
worked.  If you've never seen a Longhorn Beetle, they are huge, with long 
antennae.  I would be startled, too!

P.S. I love mice, except when they get into my kitchen.  But they're so 
cute!
