But, as I argue with my boyfriend, it does take a lot of
strength to ride ..
especially for so long. My non horse boyfriend believes
with all his heart
that the horse is the only one who needs to be in
shape...because the riders
just sit there. How to explain this to him is beyond me.

it has more to do with being *competitive* minded.  I
think men are more
geared to go for a *win* (the dominent male wins all ya
know) :-)
