As of 2:30 pm  today,Roger was still in ICU at Sutter Roseville Hospital.I had a brief talk with him and it went like this,"well Matthew,I almost became fish bait.Another 20 feet and I would have fallen off the ledge 300 ft. down to the river and they probably would have found me at Rucka Chuck.I am thankful that I am alive,because i was real close to being dead.I have some broken ribs, and they have me on pain meds for that,and a small laceration on my liver ,and a hole in one of my lungs.I am ok,I was lucky Matthew,and I still have a few more tevis rides left in me."

 

 

    I met Roger when I was 11 years old at the Briones Ride where we rode and finished together .We have been good friends ever since. I would like to wish him a speedy recovery  and thank the rescue crew that extracted him from the ledge,and then somehow transported him to the helicopter that was stationed quite aways away.
