Re: [RC] Abuse or Poor Judgment? - Betsy O'Shea

Amy Tyron is a professional rider with many years of experience and training. Her horse had been first in dressage  and unfortunately her horse stumbled and was lame just before the last jump.  It appears from the video that the desire to win took over her judgement as she pushed the horse foreward.   (like some endurance riders have done) .  Even intermediate level riders can tell when their horse stumbles and is lame, much less 3 legged lame..  Who would want her riding their horse if she cannot tell the difference. I am appauled over this incident and the total disregard for the welfare of the horse.  And I am really disappointed that David O'Connor said it was possible for the rider to not know that this occurred.  I suspect that high level eventing is riddled with politics and just as "dirty" a sport as many professional sports are.
