Re: [RC] My nickel, and a caution - Elizabeth ChasePatty, Do you have a video link you might share? Eventing is very intense. I have a retired eventer who went bridle lame, plus deducing from his carriage 'issues' and scars had some bad falls ... broke down, then dumped at a rescue. He's coming around. As I said earlier, I wouldn't let anyone near my horse that who didn't dismount at the first misstep. To me, there's just no excuse. I did watch the video a few times and I'm sure that while the rider knew her horse had taken a "bad step" and came up lame from it. I doubt it even entered her mind the extent of the injury. I shudder to think someone would be out on the trail with a video camera to film some of the things that happen to endurance horses. When you push horses to their physical limits and ride on the red line, averages say that there will be a breakdown occasionally, I have no idea what the stats are on this. It is shocking to watch, but not so surprising. Patty Julie Gelderman <Julie@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: Isn't it OK to state your opinion anymore?
