I have been waiting for the video to decide for myself ..... that horse was lame and very lame FOREVER before that last jump...He definitely looked like he tripped or overstrided and pulled a shoe, I likely wouldn't have pulled him up immediately. Horses trip, bump, whatever, and take a couple bad strides, no biggie, within 3-4 strides they are sound again. But, I counted *47* bad strides and a 5' wall!! and we can't see every stride for trees in the way. She clearly knew, had time to process it, time to attempt to switch leads, and made the decision to continue on. The FEI's decision is nothing, hardly a slap on the wrist, $2500 in fines (probably cheaper than the entry/stall fees for the event), a 2 month suspension, and disqualification at that event. (did she even place? she was overtime) I'm with you Raven, its just disgusting....totally unbelievable...
