Re: [RC] Europe rules vs. AERC rules - Sisu West RanchAnother example of a brutal day. Even in the best of run rides and with the best riders, things can sneak up on you and everyone find that it is almost impossible to get a horse or person cool.If we were sensible, and always had 100% reliable weather forecasts, not to mention psychic powers, rides would be canceled on days where the weather was going to be that bad. This also goes for early season snow storms in the Rockies, and 32 F and raining in MN in October. I guess my point is, that the best way to protect our horses is to hire knowledgeable vets, who know the area, and let them help riders protect their horses. One size does not fit all when the terrain varies from sandy, flat FL to the rocky Big Horn Mountains, and the weather varies from 30 F and rain to 95 F and saturated, to 110 F. Lets not even think of rides with all of the preceding.
