While the rest of the country might be hot and dry, Vermont is cool and wet.? PERFECT riding weather although the 3 inches of rain for two days prior to the ride will make the trail a bit slick.? The big tent held over 600 people for dinner, runners, riders, crews, volunteers, all sharing the anticipation of the trail the next day.? It was great to have a runner come to the horse pre-ride briefing to express the gratitude of all of the runners for keeping this the last combination ultramarthon/endurance ride in the United States.? It truly is amazing how these two sports interact so well.
