Re: [RC] [RC] [RC] Non-pacing TWH Bloodlines?? - Soli SorokinMy stallion - who I'd compete on more if I had time (we can only hit the Big South Fork ride if my work schedule permits it - but we're out there about twice a week doing about 20-30 miles) - does not pace at all. He's more of a square moving horse that does the running walk, foxtrot, extended full trot, and canter. We don't trot often, but about every 15 miles or so we do about ten minutes of trotting - it seems to give him a break, and I actually like posting every now and then. His bloodlines are fairly obscure for the most part. His sire is Denney's Golden Star, dam is French Silk. On his sire's side, Golden Nautilus x Eu-Bet's Lady Star, Dam's side is a bit more well-known, with Go Boy's Gold Insignia x a Pusher bred mare a couple generations back. He's a smaller horse, but with solid, big hooves and legs. He was bred by a family in KY that produced a good sized handful of colorful, nicely gaited horses that were exactly the opposite of what the show ring called for. From what I hear, the children and in-laws continued with horses after the original "Denney" died, but without a focus or program. ~S On 7/18/07, Nancy Sturm <sturmranch@xxxxxxxx> wrote: Okay - I'm riding for a third season of occassional limited disrtance on a TWH gelding.
