Re: [RC] [RC] Barefoot or not, it's getting really, really old - Lynne GlazerHey, Andrea,Very sad to hear of the flaming--and you have a pretty thick hide! You're not gonna change human nature, especially that what-worked-for- me need. And that is why I get individual e-mails instead of the digest--the ability to quickly scan and delete, rather than scroll, would rather wear out that delete key. What I wish is that some people would get the idea that there are not only black and white solutions rather than shades of gray, and that those people have not "seen it all" as they think--horses will humble ya every time. That "calloused soles" thing drives me particularly ape, for one of my horses no amount of "conditioning" of his hooves, barefoot, will solve his flat sole problem! And then people will come back and say, your trimmer is obviously no good, or you need to condition the sole on rocks/gravel, or... Like Carolyn said, it's about the horse. Not my ego, although I absolutely loved riding him barefoot, he was surefooted but very ouchy despite more than a year barefoot with little sole removal.
