Kudzu is the king of invasive weeds. I found this interesting site on its history. Nothing will kill it and round up makes it grow faster. Seems that cows will eat it - in fact one guy in Georgia bails kudzu for his cows according to this site. However, in my youth I've ridden many a horse past a kudzu patch and not one wanted to take a taste. So I expect kudzu is not high on horse's list of culinary delights. When I was a kid back on the farm we would burn it off before it spread. It didn't stop it - it just slowed it down. The good news Kentucky - at least then - was a little to cold in the winter and had cool springs and cool falls so it's growing season was a lot shorter than say South Georgia or North Florida. But you might contact this guy and get some of his hay. If your horses eat it - then you will never be at a loss for hay. http://www.alabamatv.org/kudzu/ Truman -- “It doesn't matter how beautiful your theory is, it doesn't matter how smart you are.
