[RC] bears in cool - Kathie Ford

Hi all, just a small alert. I know most are familliar w/bears at Cool, but yesterday there were two black bears (about 500lbs each) right on the trail from Auburn to Cool, past no hands not quite up to short trail. (the section they just redid) One bear was of concern as it's behavior seemed abnormal. Lethargic and disoriented. The riders decided not wise to try to pass as the bear was right on the trail and wouldn't budge, even after shouts and yelling as well. Many people out too including young children. This occurred when I had separated from some friends/riders and then just about caught up saw them coming back down the trail with some concern.

Due to the behavior of the one bear the ranger was called out to check the situation out. We have no idea of the result but just be careful. We have no idea why the behavior was so abnormal.
