RE: [RC] Ride stewards - Kristen A FisherI like the idea of this very much as well. Perhaps there could be an on-line handbook and test for AERC steward certification like there is for certified vets now? In terms of payment, I don't think the expense of an AHA steward would be justified [they are typically paid $100-$150 per day plus expenses, but are certified by USEF and have a legal liability for their performance as steward]. I would think that some stewards would be willing to volunteer just as they would for any other position like P&R, etc. If the RMs wanted to reward the steward they could offer them a ride entry or something. I would probably be willing to participate in this program if it were developed and if the stewards did not have a legal liability.
