Have your home owners carrier sell you  what is know as  an "umbrella 
policy".   It  costs  a lot less  than being sued.  It would cover
this kind of thing unless  the poilicy excluded it, hire you a lawyer 
etc. It would  also cover your liability for serving
on volunteer boards and such. I dont leave home without one.

Since I just gave legal advice to untold people, let me say I am a 
lawyer practicing in the State of IL and each state
might be different and suggest that you speak to a lawyer in your state 
on the subject. But, I would still
get an umbrella policy.
