The rules as to what brand you can put on a horse
(or cow for that matter), and where you can put it vary from state to
state. If she seriously wants to brand the animal, she must find out what
the rules are in her state.
Just putting a brand on a horse could, in the
right state, get you in big trouble. The least amount of trouble may be
that you have accidentally told the world that your horse belongs to someone
else, who owns the brand you used.
