Dear Ridecampers,  firstly, if you don't want to read this hit the delete, 
no prob.

I'm sorry to say this but that email I passed along (which I don't usually 
do) happened to be from my brother. His job is in computers and part of it 
is straining thru spam stuff  for large companies and finding out what is 
and isn't. He would not have sent this to me lightly.  And yes there was 
something like this years ago, but there are folks trying to at least make a 
"statement" about how they feel in regards to gas price greed and they are 
entitled to express how they feel one way or another. If they don't want to 
buy gas don't. If they think its a farce, fine ignore it. To each their own.

Some folks also say it's high in Europe.  Well, so what. We are not Europe 
we are USA.  I don't usually get on a podum, don't like to, but geeezz, 
don't be afraid to do something..people in numbers speaking out used to 
work.  sheesssh.

Also, myspace is also going for a boycott and it's all over that.  (I have 3 
kids on Myspace)

You can do what you wish, I was only trying to help make a "dent" in profits 
especially when I heard about one companies profits were over 9 BILLION 
dollars.

Sure, I believe in advancing to other fuels and we should have years ago. 
Over the years there have been numberous ideas put on the shelf, bought up 
and tucked away etc. etc, by the oil companies. Even biodiesel.   A good 
idea but even more expensive than what we have.

But bottom line  is this is just plain greed and we all know it. We all know 
when they say there is a shortage or some other lame excuse it is BS.  Oil 
is bought by the drum usually on 6 month contracts.  Price hikes should not 
be reflected over night when oil is bought 6 months prior.

No matter, if millions of americans didn't purchase gas for just 1 day (and 
you can do it, just buy it thet day before or after..that's not a big deal) 
it does make a statement with some effect.  Also not purchasing food in 
their mini markets, that hits too.

None the less do what you will or will not.  I only put it out there as 
people in numbers does speak.

Sadly, most americans have become very apathetic; ie, complaining yet doing 
nothing.  Granted our hands are tied in most case and everybody is trying to 
make ends meet.  But enough is enough. Doesn't anybody remember the Boston 
Tea Party?  Now that was a statement.
