If you can't find any other vet, you could call the clinic the sellers 
use and discuss what you want with them, asking if they feel they can be 
impartial.  I'd ask what they cover in their standard prepurchase exam 
and if they will suggest xrays or ultrasound if they see anything 
suspicious.
