Want to realize that the waters are even muddier than
that? Article in this AM Missoulian about the National Bison Range.
Nobody here would argue that the Bison (American Buffalo)
is not native to N America and is not a wild animal. The article
mentioned, sort of as an aside, that some of the Bison on the range do not have
cattle genes, and are a valuble resource because those in Yellowstone Park have
more cattle genes.
The question then becomes: How much cow DNA can a
Buffalo contain before it is no longer a "native"
"wild" animal??
