In 1971 we put on a 50 mile ride north of Bishop, Ca.  Had about 15 riders
including a good rider from  Nevada with his Appy Gelding that he informed us
was being wormed with chewing tobacco instead of having the Vet tube him.  He 
finished the ride but a couple  of months later had a major problem  with
worms.. It was so major that the horse died from a massive infestation.  Vet
had told him that he didn't think that the tobacco would work..
